Spend time understanding your employees, customers, financial reports, daily operations, vendor relationships, and the systems that keep the business running. Resist the urge to immediately change everything simply because you’re the new owner.
Most businesses have strengths worth preserving along with opportunities for improvement. Taking time to understand the “why” behind existing processes often leads to better decisions than making immediate changes.
